Happy 3rd Birthday Luke!!!

Well look who's

Our sweet, little Luke!

Luke was so excited about being 3 that his Mom even let him jump on the bed!
We had such a fun day just hanging out and playing. We all headed to Chick-fil-A for dinner per Luke's request and then back home for some yummy birthday cake.
It's been a wonderful day of celebrating this little guy!  Thank you Lord for blessing our family with him three years ago.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LUKE!!

Luke's 1st Day of Preschool

What an exciting day here in the Bowman house!
It was Luke's
I was a little worried that he may not love the whole "going to school" program so we talked about it a lot beforehand.  This morning he did awesome!  All SMILES!!!
He was so excited to wear his backpack. It kind of looks like it could topple him over.
Big brother Connor is going to the same preschool.  This is his third year there so he was not that excited to pose for all of the 1st day pictures.  I'm just happy he would get in one with his little brother.
When we got to the school both of the boys did GREAT!  Here they are with their buddy Deacon.

Mommy & Mr. Big Boy.  Thanks for taking the pic Sarah!
Luke headed right into his class and started doing a puzzle.  I was THRILLED there were no tears. Okay, there were tears but only from Mommy.  I just couldn't believe our littlest guy was so grown up already.
Enjoy school Luke! You are a precious blessing and we pray that you, Connor & Joshua accomplish all God has planned for you this school year!

Back to School-Josh starts 1st grade

I feel like we were just here last week dropping Joshua off for his first day of Kindergarten and now look at our big 1st grader!

Josh didn't seem nervous at all and just found his buddies in his class and hung out with them. Here he is with his friend Cody.

And of course, Miss Avery.  She's always too adorable!

Connor & Deacon showed up wearing the same shirt.  Great minds think alike you know!

Luke just had to pose with Deacon too.

We got a shot of the whole family.  Thanks Sarah!

And then, just like that--he was off to start his first day of 1st grade.
Have a great year Josh! You are an incredible little boy and we pray that God blesses you in every way this school year!

I Heart Faces-Beautiful Eyes

This week's challenge at I Heart Faces is "Beautiful Eyes."  I immediately thought of this picture of my son Connor when I saw the theme.  This was taken around Easter when Connor was showing off the bubbles he got in his Easter basket.  I love the color in the photo but especially his eyes.

Happy 5th Birthday Connor!

I know I say this on each of my kiddos birthdays, but really--where has the time gone??  Five years have flown by since we welcomed this precious little guy into our family.

Now Connor Christian is already turning 5!

So I thought it would be fun to take a little walk down memory lane of Connor's past birthdays.  He sure has grown a lot!!

Connor- you are a blessing to our family and we praise God for you each day!
 Happy 5th Birthday little man!

A Trip to the Library

It has been one hot summer here in St. Louis!  Because of the heat we haven't been able to get outside too often and we have had waaaay too much TV time which makes us all a little crazy.  So we have had to find some more productive activities outside of the house.  We are very blessed to have a library within 5 minutes from home so we have spent some fun filled and blissfully quiet time there this summer.  Yesterday we took a trip and found all kinds of new & exciting books to read.

Thank you Lord for the blessing of books and the peace and quiet the library has provided this summer!

Easter Weekend 2011

It has been forever and a day since I blogged about anything but hey---it's finally Springtime. Time for new beginnings & the celebration of new life through the most amazing event in all of human history---the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ!  I do love Easter and all the "traditions" that goes with it.  Church on Easter Sunday (okay we go to church every Sunday but Easter is super special), new Easter outfits, dyeing Easter eggs & decorating our Easter Bunny cake.  We did all of those fun things this weekend and the boys had a blast with each event.  Here they are posing in their very bright, new Easter ensembles.
They are only cooperating here because I told them they couldn't have their Easter baskets until I got a decent picture of them.  Mean Mommy.  Oh well, I'll probably have to result to many other tricks and bribery to get pictures of them in the future so I'm fine with it.

On Saturday we decorated our Easter Bunny cake~

Normally our bunny is just one color--either white or chocolate,  but this year my Mom (who started this tradition for us when I was little) suggested that these poor children should each have the flavor they wanted.  Thus we have a chocolate, vanilla and coconut bunny.  Everyone was happy even though this crazy looking rabbit cake was not going to make the cover of Southern Living.

The next fun event on the list was dyeing Easter eggs.

I love all the bright colors!  Of course, we should have boiled at least a dozen more eggs to dye but I didn't want to be eating egg salad for the next month.

Sunday evening we had Easter dinner and also did our egg hunt.  This picture makes me laugh because Josh was so enthusiastic about the hunt this year (notice his tongue hanging out of his mouth).

Here is Connor counting all the eggs he found.

Each of the boys found a special egg that had a $1 bill in it.  Here Connor is explaining to Daddy how the guy on the front of the dollar looks like Elvis Presley. That made me crack up--Connor has never even seen a picture of Elvis.
It was a fantastic weekend!
We had lots of fun with all the Easter traditions but most of all in celebrating the real reason behind this wonderful season--Jesus Christ rising from the grave to conquer death and offer us eternal life!  Thank you Lord for this amazing gift!!

I Heart Faces-Best Face Photo for January 2011

I HEART FACES Photo Challenge -Best face for January 2011

Even though I have followed the folks over at I Heart Faces for a long time now-- this is my very first time to enter anything!  The challenge this week was best face for January and as soon as I saw it,  I knew exactly the picture I would enter.  This is my son Connor playing in the snow which we have had a ton of  here in St. Louis this January.   I just love his expression, the focus and of course--the snow!

Snow Days

We have certainly had our fair share of winter this year!  This is Joshua's 4th snow day from school and it looks like there may be another on Monday.  Well, what can you do but enjoy it & make the most of it. There has been plenty of inside time building with Legos, watching movies, making forts out of the couch cushions and all the blankets in the house and of course drinking hot chocolate.  We've also had a great time playing in the snow.  The first snow fell on Christmas Eve.  It was beautiful to wake up to a white Christmas!  Here's a few pics of the boys playing with Daddy over the Christmas holiday.

Yesterday we got another 8.5 inches of snow.  I think they said on the news that this was the biggest snowfall in one day since 1982.

My sweet husband shoveled our driveway before he went in to work.

The boys and I stayed inside most of the day just hanging out and making some crafts.

For some reason Joshua wanted to wear my knitted blue hat.  Don't you just love the flower!

Later in the afternoon we headed outside.  The sun was shining and the snow was perfectly powdery.  Not so great for building snowmen but still fun to play in.

A nice warm bath was a perfect ending to such a chilly day!
Thank you Lord for the beautiful snow & thank you that we have a warm house to retreat to.
